Why give?
-
✽
Pets die everyday due to families not being able to afford necessary medical care. Your donation helps prevent suffering and lowers the amount of economic euthanasia in the CSRA.
-
✽
Over 33,000 animals were euthanized in Georgia in 2024, and providing life saving care to keep pets with their families can reduce that number.
-
✽
Needing financial help doesn’t always mean someone “can’t afford” their pet. Life-saving medical care, especially at emergency vets, is very expensive, often costing thousands of dollars.
-
✽
Once we receive 501(c)(3) approval, donations may become tax deductible retroactively.
-
✽
Many people can’t qualify for alternative methods of payment (like CareCredit or ScratchPay) due to income or prior credit history.
-
✽
Most emergency situations can’t wait for a GoFundMe or payday. Your donation allows us to act immediately
FAQs

This depends on available funds, the cost of treatment, and the urgency of the situation. Any non-emergent add-ons (for example, adding a spay/neuter while the pet is already in surgery) will not be covered so that we can prioritize as many life-threatening emergencies as we can.
-
At the time, we do not currently cover euthanasia. As we grow and have more funds, we would like to cover it when it will put a pet at peace, but for now, several vet offices are willing to do euthanasia at a low cost or for free when it’s the best thing for a pet.
-
No! We are entirely donation based: our funds come from donations, and we donate those funds to pets in need. We do not use a voucher system or minimum payment requirement. We do ask that any families that can pay part of the vet bill do so, so that we can use the funds toward other emergencies.
-
Unfortunately, we aim to solely cover the costs for emergency, life-saving vet care. There are several non-profits and organizations in the CSRA that are focused toward routine care and smaller cases.
-
All applications will be confirmed by contacting the practicing veterinarian for the pet to ensure they are in need of/receiving care. We will always make sure treatments that we cover are necessary to save the pets life before covering the costs.
-
We’re based in Augusta, GA. Currently, we’re limited to helping families in the CSRA, but as we grow, we would like to expand.
-
Yes! As we grow and need volunteers, we will post on our Facebook page. Until then, the best way to get involved is by donating or sharing Reese’s story and our site.

No! There is a major difference between being able to “afford” a pet and being able to afford an unexpected surgery or treatment. A house pet costs on average $50-$200 a month, no one expects to suddenly need hundreds or thousands of dollars surgery for their pet. Also, shelters and streets are overfilled with animals, expecting everyone who can’t afford emergency care to surrender their pets would only increase that issue.
-
Not always. If the quality of life would be worse, if the pet is very old and may pass soon either way, or if there is low survival odds during/after treatment, it may not be the best choice to go through with treatment. We will carefully consider each case and ensure that we aren’t contributing to unnecessary suffering.
